Genetic Screening at Brandeis

4:00 – 8:00 PM, the Lurias (Upstairs Sherman)
Every Ashkenazi Jew has a 1 in 4 chance of being a carrier of a potentially fatal genetic disease. Professionals from the Human Genetics Program at NYU Langone Medical Center will be on campus to provide free screening for all students. Students will be tested to see if they are carriers of genetic diseases. NYU will provide free genetic counselors to discuss the ramifications of their test results and appropriate steps to take.
