Meet the Poraths

Rabbi Yisroel Porath

Rabbi Porath came on aliyah with his family from Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in Neve Daniel, Israel. He attended Neve Shmuel Yeshiva High School and the Karnei Shomron Hesder Yeshiva during which he served in the Nachal infantry unit during his army service. Rabbi Porath holds a B.Ed. in educational counseling, a teaching certificate, and has Semicha from Yeshivat HaMivtar, Rabbi Riskin, Rabbi Brovender and Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. He has worked for various educational organizations and institutions including Bnei Akiva, Yavneh Olami and Yeshivat Shaarei Mevaseret Tzion, and has taught at Midreshet Moriah for the past two years.

Rabbi Porath enjoys sports, learning to play his guitar and having a good laugh. He is married to Shoshana and is the father of Eliana Nechama.

Shoshana Porath

Shoshana grew up in Queens, NY, and graduated the Yeshiva of Flatbush. She made aliyah after spending a year of learning at Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim. Shoshana holds a B.A. in Tanach from Bar Ilan University, a teaching certificate from Michlelet Herzog and is a Lindenbaum Educators Fellow. She has worked for various educational organizations and institutions including Bnei Akiva and Midreshet Moriah. In her spare time Shoshana enjoys cooking and music. She is married to Rabbi Yisroel Porath and is the mother of Eliana Nechama.
