Meet the Greenbergs

Rabbi Aaron Greenberg was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. After graduating from Yeshivat Or Chaim ('93), he spent a year and a half studying in Yeshivat Shilo. Upon completion of his degree in Psychology and Religious Studies from York University, Aaron returned to Israel to study at Yeshivat Har Etzion in the Gush. On his return to Toronto, he married his wife Miriam and worked as a madrich (advisor) at his alma mater, Yeshivat Or Chaim. Although Aaron initially planned to enter the business world, the call of Torah proved too strong to ignore, and he soon found himself teaching Judaic subjects at Yeshivat Or Chaim and Ulpanat Orot girls school, where he quickly became involved in coordinating student activities. Aaron is not a big believer in sleep: In addition to receiving his rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Gavriel Zinner of Brooklyn, New York, Aaron received his Master's degree in Jewish School Administration from Yeshiva University's Azrieli School of Education and then went on to complete his certification as a principal. Aaron loves teaching and preparing shiurim, and his love for learning led him to create the Beit Midrash Program at York University. Aaron is very excited to develop exciting learning opportunities and other great programs for the religious university community in Toronto to enjoy!

Miriam Greenberg, like her husband, was born and raised in Toronto. After graduating from Ulpanat Orot girls school ('93), Miriam studied at Midreshet Moriah in Jerusalem for a year. Upon her return, she completed a B.Ed. in Jewish Education as well as a B.A. in Psychology at (you guessed it!) York University. Miriam completed her Master's of Education in Special Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. After teaching for a few years in the Jewish day school system, Miriam became a Special Education teacher at Eitz Chaim, and enjoys the rewarding relationships she forges with her students.

Aaron and Miriam have four children. Tzvi is eight years old and enjoys learning and playing baseball with his Abba. Five year old Nediva loves nature and animals and anything to do with beads. Ezra, three years old, loves music, Transformers, and his favorite pastime, reminding Ima of the items for the grocery list. Yair is two and a half.
